    Far too many Americans are trapped in a vicious cycle of multi-generational poverty. Despite hundreds of billions in charitable giving annually, and as much as $1 trillion every year in anti-poverty government programs, the poverty rate in the United States has not declined significantly since the 1960s. It’s time for a different approach to poverty—one that sees the very people working to improve their lives as the solution.

     

    At Stand Together, we are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty. That’s why we invest in people with firsthand knowledge of their community’s problems; who are breaking the barriers people confront in society and inside themselves. Over the last three and a half years, our community invested in more than 150 local organizations that help people overcome poverty and addiction.

     

    We’re seeking a strategic, creative, and results-oriented individual to join the Stand Together Campaign Team in support of our anti-poverty efforts, where you’ll be responsible for developing campaigns that capture the imagination of key audiences, and inspire them to join our efforts to break the cycle of poverty and help people realize their potential.

     

     

    Your Responsibilities Include

    • Develop and lead strategic communication and marketing campaigns – from concept through execution – that create engagement and movements that make a difference in solving poverty
    • Provide beginning-to-end leadership for strategic initiatives, translating goals and objectives into work plans and procedures
    • Educate, motivate, and mobilize people to join a growing community of social enterprises and leaders who are helping people improve their lives
    • Deploy a wide range of content over a variety of media channels – including earned, shared, and owned – that bring to life stories about the injustices holding people back and the heroes helping people overcome them, and celebrate those whose lives have been transformed. This includes creative documentaries/videos
    • Leverage partnership opportunities and strategic alliances that support objectives
    • Manage vendor relationships
    • Drive measurable results against established metrics, consistently optimizing and adapting to meet objectives

     

    Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

    • Commitment to Stand Together’s vision, values, and operating principles
    • 7 to 10 years of marketing and/or communications experience
    • Proven ability to develop, execute, and evaluate integrated communications and marketing strategies
    • Effective storyteller
    • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders
    • Highly organized and ability to deliver on tight deadlines
    • Superior writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
