    We are building out our donor communication team at a time when there is plenty of white space—we will rely on you for your creativity and expertise. In this donor communications writer job, you’ll advocate for and hold our brand to the highest of standards. You internalize powerful stories and thrive in the details. Your unique ability to balance nuanced messaging and technical writing will be essential to the quality of the Stand Together’s donor facing content.

    Your Responsibilities Include

    • Provide the highest level of customer focus from conception to completion, anticipating challenges, handling multiple project revisions, and meeting deadlines
    • Proactively seek and synthesize information from diverse internal sources with varying degrees of detail and drive the inquiry process to get answers when questions remain
    • Create and drive the editing process of high-quality, diverse investor communications, such as proposals and stewardship reports, that convey the organization’s mission and strategy

     

    Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

    • Strong communications credentials and 4+ years of work experience
    • Proven communicator with an appreciation for working with elite, high-level audiences, and the political acumen necessary to effectively manage the broad and sensitive communications issues
    • Committed to advancing the organization’s strategies, aimed at enabling people to improve their lives
    • Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline- and detail-oriented environment and adjusts easily to competing and ever-changing priorities
    • Commitment to effectiveness, high-quality work, confidentiality, and customer satisfaction
    • Attention to detail in every aspect of the role
    • Exceptional writer able to boil complex ideas into simple and compelling messages
    • Thrives in an environment fraught with ambiguity
    • Collaborative approach to work; Gives and receives feedback respectfully to develop the most compelling products
    • Presents ideas and provides counsel to internal and external collaborators
    • Professional manner and highly polished interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build relationships and establish credibility at all levels
    • Offers and drives creative ideas and disruptive concepts
    • Quickly assesses and understands complex (and often politically sensitive) positions and distills the information visually and in writing
    • Is solutions-oriented and prepared to take action swiftly and directly

    • Works independently, manages time wisely, and prioritizes workload in an environment where interruptions are common

     

    Standout Candidates May Also Bring

    • Experience with SalesForce and Asana
    • Knowledge and understanding of fundraising best practices, including planned giving and donor cultivation and stewardship
    • Bachelors degree
