    We are building our content team and will rely on you for your creativity and expertise. In the Creative Writer job, you advocate for and hold our brand to the highest of standards. You internalize brand guidelines and thrive in the details. Your unique ability to balance nuanced messaging and technical editing will be essential to the quality of the Institute’s external facing content.

     

    Our communications and marketing team is transforming our organization’s content strategy—join us and help us communicate the ideas that will move our society toward one of mutual benefit, where people succeed by helping others improve their lives.

     

    Your Responsibilities Include

    • Develop story ideas that bring our content strategy to life
    • Work directly with grantees and scholars to develop interviews and stories
    • Serve as liaison between the content team and other internal teams within the community
    • Work with our media and events partners to develop related content
    • Participate in weekly Agile/Scrum meetings and planning

     

    Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

    • 5 years' experience as a writer in news or communications roles
    • Excellent writing and editing skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Experience with implementing SEO best practices
    • Experience using data reports and analytics to improve content performance
    • Team player mentality

     

    Standout Candidates May Also Bring

    • Experience working with internal service teams and customers
    • Degree in English, Journalism, or Communications
    • Working knowledge of Associated Press and Chicago styles
    • Experience with Adobe InCopy
    • Non-profit experience
