    The ideal candidate will be equally adept at leading our media and brand management strategies while developing and nurturing a team of committed professionals. The Vice President, Brand Communications, is a hands-on supervisory position and will play an instrumental role as a key brand strategist, ensuring that all marketing and communications assets are consistently on brand and message and helping us achieve our goals.

     

    You will coach and mentor a team towards the development of media and content marketing strategies. This will include Stand Together properties, collateral, creative, and targeting approaches that will dramatically increase the organization’s brand positioning and drive awareness.     Your Responsibilities Include

    • Creating powerful messages, storylines, and public relations strategies while monitoring the overall effectiveness and results of these programs
    • Manage and develop an internal team and external agency partner relationships, as well as program budgets
    • Supervise, develop, and evolve the media team by driving communications and media strategies from conception to implementation
    • Work with the communications team and teams across the organization to create multi-faceted plans and cultivate communications strategies
    • Increase awareness and brand recognition through various PR and media strategies
    • Coordinate and work with other members from the communications team in executing strategy, which includes digital, research, events, and partnerships
    • Prepare principals for media interviews to ensure consistency in our critical messaging
    • Develop strategies designed for national, state and local news outlets
    • Identify and nurture relationships with key media outlets and reporters
    • Develop key messages and oversee the drafting of press releases, and other materials
    • Proactively identify areas for improvement and develop systems and processes to address issues holistically

     

    Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

    • 10+ years’ experience in communications, strategic media relations or public relations

    • 5+ years’ experience in managing teams, with an emphasis on building, managing, and motivating high-performance teams

    • Must be passionate about communications and media relations with a finger on the pulse of the latest industry trends and a strong network of existing media relationships

    • A proven track record of delivering measurable results

    • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of partners

    • Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to influence at multiple levels of the organization

    • Broad thinking, problem solver who engages proactively and takes initiative

    • A process-minded planner who can juggle deadlines, logistics and operational plans for multi-dimensional programs and events with ease

    • Ability to shape and harness qualitative and quantitative research to drive effective economic decision-making coupled with an analytical skill set, capable of analyzing and pivoting to results-oriented data

    • Excellent persuasive writing, editing, and verbal communications skills, including presentation skills
