The Americans for Prosperity Foundation is looking for an Outreach Resources Manager to join our Emerging Markets team. You'll drive the creation of impactful messaging tools and innovative outreach programs to help amplify the efforts of our community-based groups and outreach partners across the country. Your work will help us expand into new audiences and guide our local teams and partners in how best to educate entire communities on the benefits of a free and open society. The Emerging Markets team is breaking barriers that stand in the way of individuals realizing their unique potential. They do this by meeting their community needs through the development of programs, community events, and continuous issue education. As a critical part of this team, you'll bring your community outreach expertise to the table to help us shape the core program development strategy. Your influence doesn't end there; you'll also tap into your creativity to help support our efforts in community building, and messaging to a wide range of audiences.

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Research how to build trust with and engage with new communities. This includes attending conferences, following the work of similar organizations, conducting new research, understanding and leveraging existing research, etc. 
  • Develop programs and content based on the knowledge provided by and the needs of our field teams to connect to targeted audiences or on specific issues and policy areas 
  • Revise existing programs for specific audiences and collaborate with internal teams to test for effectiveness 
  • Mentor state teams on effective messaging to specific audiences 
  • Maintain an awareness of what outreach research exists around specific audiences and apply that knowledge to program and resource building 
  • Identify research gaps and work with internal teams to deploy effective, informed outreach into a desired community 
  • Collaborate with HQ communications team to identify, highlight, and leverage success stories that can help build credibility in local communities 
  • Travel required up to 20% of the time 
  • Other duties as assigned 


Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

  • A positive attitude and an earnest interest in providing good customer service to our members, partners, and other state chapters 
  • A firm commitment to tackling some of the nation’s biggest challenges so that every person can realize their full potential
  • Proven success demonstrating effective outreach into demographically, philosophically, and/or socioeconomically diverse communities  
  • 4+ years’ related experience in program design and execution  
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills  
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced, deadline driven, environment 
  • Ability to create new programs or outreach strategies by thinking outside the box 
  • Integrity, humility, and an entrepreneurial attitude  


Standout Candidates May Also Bring

  • Marketing and/or community building/outreach experience 
  • Specific knowledge of the African American community and causes important to them
