Overview

Stand Together is looking for an experienced professional to serve as Fiscal Director within its Economic Opportunity Portfolio. The Director will be responsible for collaborating across the Stand Together Community to execute national and state-based strategies to advance principled tax reform, ensure that government spending and debt are tied to core government functions, and combat the effects of endemic special interest cronyism. The position represents an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to advance reforms that restore government to its beneficial role, ensuring taxes remain low enough to allow people to invest in their families, communities and businesses and that economic opportunity is preserved for future generations.

The Fiscal Director will be an integral part of this team.

 

 

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Play a critical role in strategy development to advance sound fiscal policy consistent with the Economic Opportunity Portfolio
  • Drive vision and strategy across organizational departments to foster environment of principled entrepreneurship among colleagues
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with coalition partners and provide leadership necessary to execute developed strategies
  • Internal and external stakeholder management
  • Drive bottom-up solutions and strategies in government policy reform, community engagement, academic partnerships, and business partnerships
  • Creative problem-solving by approaching old problems with new solutions

 

Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

  • Passion for tackling difficult tax, spending, budget, debt and cronyism problems. 
  • Proficient understanding of reform ideas and most pervasive barriers associated with fiscal policy
  • 7+ years of experience in a leadership role driving strategy, collaboration and project management
  • High degree of professionalism and strong written and verbal communications skills with a variety of audiences and partners
  • Integrity, humility, and an entrepreneurial attitude 
  • A positive attitude and an earnest interest in providing good customer service to our members and partners 
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining broad-based coalitions
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects and have good communication with all business stakeholders in each project
  • Track record of success in a fast-paced environment, including a high degree of initiative, and desire to proactively improve on knowledge and effectiveness

 

Standout Candidates May Also Bring

  • Issue advocacy, strategic communications, or public affairs experience
  • Experience as senior staff on Capitol Hill
