The Strategic Business Analyst will join Americans for Prosperity's Strategic & Innovative Services team. As part of our Strategy & Innovation department, this team partners with department leaders by sharing their unique knowledge expertise to help inform decision-making and drive continuous transformation in our business. The empowers the business to be dynamic and operate under ever-changing conditions by leveraging knowledge systems and identifying opportunities for innovation. We make knowledge relevant and applicable to help our business evaluate tradeoffs and drive better outcomes.


The Strategic Business Analyst is a strategic partner and knowledge center for business goal development and measurement, working with department leaders to develop measures that tier up to their long-term and short-term goals. The Strategic Business Analyst will ensure tracking mechanisms are in place to house, report, and analyze the measures by creating new products, modifying existing systems, or connecting existing systems. The Strategic Business Analyst will provide grassroots leadership with visibility on the progress of their goals by producing dashboards and other visualizations as well as research and analysis for questions relating to specific organizational assumptions.


This position may be based out of our Arlington, VA HQ office or work remotely.



Your Responsibilities Include

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis; develop reports and materials that enable situational awareness and drive organizational impact
  • Collaborate with business partners to help in development of operational strategies based on your research and analysis
  • Consistently reevaluate and improve existing processes and knowledge systems to best support partners
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence tools or systems, providing business partners with trends and key insights used for strategic decision making and driving performance.
  • Combine data from multiple sources to respond to high-level business questions from partners
  • Create standardized tools to obtain relevant data from the organization’s data base for the purposes of data reporting and analysis and thereby develop and maintain complex analytical reports and dashboards.
  • Provide ongoing analysis of current strategic initiatives to identify and enhance areas of growth
  • Created and utilized analytic tools to interpret data and support key decision-making
  • Use data, statistical models, and research to detect trends and make predictions of the future based on insights gained, create standardized tools and match solutions to individual business goals.


Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in research and analysis
  • Ability to write concisely, persuasively and analytically, with attention to detail, grammar, and syntax
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into meaningful insights
  • Ability to take initiative, collaborate, and work independently
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high sense of urgency
  • High degree of attention to detail and organization 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, power user of Excel 
  • Understanding and excitement for the organization’s vision
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data and isolate essential relevant information for best decision making
